Cookie notice

This notice applies to tobia.io. Tobia manages preferences directly: it does not use an external service to show the banner or store your cookie choice.

1. Your choice

On your first visit, you can accept optional analytics, decline them, or customize your choice. Closing the banner with the X is the same as declining them. Scrolling or continuing to browse does not count as consent: you can still use the site.

Your choice is stored in the tobia_consenso cookie for 183 days, about six months, on the .tobia.io. domain. It contains the preference version, the date of your choice, and whether you allowed analytics. It contains no name or email address and is not linked to your account. The cookie stays in your browser: we do not keep a central record of cookie choices.

The banner may reappear when the cookie expires, if you delete it, or if the tools and purposes for which we request consent change substantially.

2. Storage needed for the site

The preference cookie lets us respect your choice. The site also uses the following functional cookie and local storage, which are not sent to advertising services:

• tobia_lingua: remembers the language you explicitly choose (it, en or es) for 183 days on the .tobia.io domain. It shows the site in your chosen language on later visits; it contains no name or email address, is not linked to your account, and does not enable analytics.
• tobia_annuncio_chiuso: remembers whether you closed the announcement in the header, until you clear the site data.
• tobia_consenso_evento: stores the date of the last preference change and tells other open tabs to update, until you clear the site data.
• tobia_notrack: excludes traffic from Google Analytics when someone enables the internal opt-out, until they disable it or clear the site data.

Signing in to the platform also uses storage needed for the session and security, described in the privacy notice.

3. Analytics

Google Analytics: only if you enable it

Google Analytics 4 measures visits, navigation, and actions such as joining the waitlist. Its script loads only after you consent to analytics. Before consent, or if you decline, the site does not load the tag or send it events.

After you accept, Google may set the _ga and _ga_*, cookies to distinguish visits and maintain session state. Their configured lifetime is 183 days from the last update. We do not enable Google Signals, ad personalization, or advertising cookies. Email addresses entered in forms are not included in analytics events.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, with possible transfers to Google in the United States. You can read Google’s privacy policy.

Basic analytics without cookies

Vercel Web Analytics counts visits, referral sources, and actions in aggregate form, without cookies or persistent identifiers. It remains active if you decline optional analytics. Details are in Vercel’s documentation.

4. Arriving through a recommendation

Tobia users can recommend it with a link containing ?c= and an eight-character code. Opening that link writes the code to the tobia_consiglio cookie on the .tobia.io domain for thirty days.

This attributes a complimentary entry to the person who recommended Tobia, if you create an account. The code is read on your first sign-in and then deleted. It relates to the person who recommended Tobia, contains neither your name nor email address, and is not used to profile you on other sites.

You can avoid this cookie by opening tobia.io without the code in the address, or by deleting it from your browser. Tobia works the same way: only the attribution of the complimentary entry changes.

5. Changing your mind

Open preferences here or from the footer of any page. When you turn off analytics and save, we stop sending data to Google Analytics and delete its cookies that are accessible on the Tobia domain. Withdrawal applies to the future: it does not erase data already sent while consent was active.
